Allan Scott
Born and bred in Perth, Allan's career as a lampworker began in 1975 when he was employed by Perthshire Paperweights, based in Crieff.
After moving onto Jay Glass to work with John Deacons in 1979, Allan arrived at Caithness Glass in 1983 and his expertise was quickly recognised.
Allan's designs have now become an integral part of the Caithness product range and his contribution to the Whitefriars collection is of particular excellence.
Allan's new designs for 2007 include the stunning Herbs and Spices Collection. These floral designs are prime examples of the extremely high levels of skill and flair found in Allan's work and demonstrate the extent to which he is continually pushing the boundaries of lampwork in his designs.
As well as designing paperweights for Caithness Glass, Allan also exhibits work at the Scottish Glass Society exhibitions. Allan has also appeared at a number of events in the UK and the US where his lampwork demonstrations are much admired.
