The Society was founded in 1976 by Colin Terris, the genius behind Caithness Glass paperweights for over 30 years, to allow the growing number of enthusiasts around the world to share in the secrets of the art of glassmaking and marvel at the delights of specially designed paperweights - with a selection of limited editions created exclusively for members of the Society.

Members of the Collectors' Society have the opportunity to purchase paperweights designed exclusively for the Society. During 2012, only members can purchase 'Prepare to Land' and 'The President'. These paperweights are limited to the number of orders received by 31st December 2012 and each weight carries a special Collectors' Society backstamp and Certificate of Authenticity.
