Perth 800th Anniversary Celebrations

Sarah P explains the brief for the Scottish Celebration, Limited Edition paperweight of 15.
19 August 2010
The Provost of Perth, John Hulbert, asked me to design a paperweight to mark the 800th anniversary of the granting of the Royal Burgh Charter to Perth by King William the Lion of Scotland in 1210. The design had to be intrinsically Scottish, using colours and themes that could be found locally. I came up with a few designs but the one I liked the best depicted a purple flower with bottle green leaves and sapphire blue base with a tartan cut detail on the back. I named it the Scottish Celebration and it was made as an edition of 15.
