Millefiori Florals - BlueLimited Edition Paperweight

The central flower is made using the lampwork technique, colour glass rods melted in a blue flame and then manipulated into the required designs and shapes. The flower is placed onto a metal disc and tiny pieces of millefiori cane positioned in a circle around it. The metal disc is placed onto a hot burner and a metal cylinder placed around the cane and flower. Molten glass is then dropped into the cylinder and the flower and cane are encased inside the glass. Once cool the top concave facet is cut and polished.
