Charming and collectible, a baby lamb frolics inside this clear glass paperweight. Our Crieff artists employ time-honored methods to hand shape the frolicking lamb, conveying youthful spirit through pose and facial expression. This sweet design celebrates cherished Scottish livestock.
Crafting Method: The sheep's body is made first by rolling molten glass in white colour and then indenting the surface with a copper tube. The head is then coloured and shaped and dropped onto the body. The next stage is to make the ears, round blobs of black glass are stuck to the side of the head and then heated and flattened, finally the eyes and nostrils are melted on with a stick of black colour glass and a torch.
