What is a lustre?
Our ‘lustre’ paperweights can be made in several different metallic shades of gold, blue and green. Each piece is created by rolling the molten glass in the special glass powers several times and heating and shaping, when the desired shape is arrived at, the final flame is the one that achieves the ‘magic’ by increasing the gas. This creates a change in the colour and the lustre finish. This is an extremely sensitive process and each paperweight will have a slightly different finish making each one a truly unique treasure.
